It has recently come to my attention that I am a pushy broad.
I’m a little pushy with people (of course a formal vote has not been taken on this), but I realized that I mostly push not against other people so much as against life itself. More accurately, I push against life constantly, incessantly…and life always wins.
You’d think after years of trying to make everything fit together, striving for perfection in all that I do and all that I am, I would become really good at being the designated controller of my universe. But it just ain’t so.
You see, if the universe operated only according to masculine principles, I would be a fantastic ruler of my world because masculine energy is directive, it’s got a plan, and it follows that plan without ever veering off course. That is the focused precision of the hunky masculine energy. However, the universe, being the balanced beauty that it is, combines both the flows of the masculine and the feminine energies. Therefore, in order to play nicely with the universe, we need to be able to have some structure and consistency with our plans (masculine energy), but we also need to surrender the outcomes (feminine energy). This is the part of the feminine that just sucks for most of us.
The act of surrender, to let go and let God as it were, is truly how to utilize feminine energy. When we are pregnant, we do not focus on trying to build that baby’s nervous system inside of us. We surrender and we allow it to happen. We cannot control it. WE cannot dictate it. We just have to trust and surrender to its unfolding. That is trusting. That is surrender and that surrender is how the feminine energy functions. The same principle of surrender also applies when we are trying to do just about anything else in our lives. When we are working on important projects we make our plans but just like pregnancy, we need to allow for the interesting and fantastic expansion of our projects! Do you think Oprah knew of the empire she was creating when she started her show? Of course not. She just planned and then surrendered. She went with the flow and she let the universe work for her and help her out in her endeavors.
You do not have to surrender. No one is forcing you to…but it does help to feel that balance within you of the supportive masculine and of the creative feminine. Once you feel it in you, you will probably see it manifesting around you too. Even if you don’t feel it right away, I can guarantee that it does feel good to relinquish masculine control and stop beating your head against life…
